Coming in January: “Embracing Diverse Voices” featuring Jacob Lawrence

Embracing Diverse Voices opens January 17th. This one-of-a-kind exhibition features sculpture, paintings, drawings, and prints by 24 African-Americans, including a complete series of screenprints by Jacob Lawrence, on of America’s most important artists. Other artists include: Romare Bearden and Reggy Gammon, two artists at the hear of the early Civil Rights Movement; John Biggers, the famed muralist; Elizabeth Catlett, who studied with Grant Wood; Kara Walker, one of the most influential artists working today; and Ernest C. Withers, whose photos of celebrities like Elvis Presley and James Brown are now iconic. Admission will be free!
